We are very pleased that we could help raise money for the Domestic Violence charity run by Warwickshire Police. Becci Taylor contacted us in April to ask if we could help her overcome her fear of snakes and raise money at the same time. We were only too obliging and took Ziggy, our Royal Python, along to the Clock Towers to meet Becci. After an initial shock, Becci managed to touch Ziggy and eventually held him around her neck. What an achievement.....Here are a couple of photos of the event.

On Sunday 2 May, we went along to The Arnold Arms pub in Barby to show some of our reptiles for their 'Pet Day'. Max, Iain's Royal Python, helped a lady overcome her fear of snakes......
Once the weather warms up, our collection of available animals will increase so keep an eye on the current stock lists

June 2009
To celebrate our 1st birthday we are offering 10% discount on all purchases during the month of July with the production of our advert from the August Practical Reptile Keeping magazine. Although the discount doesn't apply to our livestock, I'm sure you will agree, saving money on full set-ups, accessories and food helps everyone's pockets. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other discounts or offers.
Wow what an amazing 8 weeks we have had since relocating to our new premises. It has gone from strength to strength and we couldn't have asked for it to go any better. Every day we see new faces and more people becoming interested in keeping reptiles as pets. Not only are we nearly one year old (15 June 2009) but we are also eagerly awaiting the arrival of our baby this month. It's a very exciting time.
March 2009
Well, things have progressed even further since my last note in October. We are now moving premises rather than re-fitting our current shop. This is a fantastic opportunity for us and will make Rugby Reptiles not only easier to find, but also easier to park near. We will be increasing the vivs by 80% - that's a further 40 vivariums aswell as an increase in 30+ snake enclosures.
The signwriting for the windows has already been done and we are just awaiting the signage to be made above the shop. As I write, the vivariums are being built, glass is being cut and painting of the shop is being carried out.

Window stickers are on Before the painting Finished shop front
The first stage of vivariums are in place, followed by the rest on Sunday and Monday. Then it will 'be all hands on deck' to get the vivariums decorated and heated ready for their new inhabitants.
October 2008
Due to an overwhelming start to our new business, we are really excited to announce we are having a re-fit and will be increasing our display vivariums by 65%. This is a fantastic time for us and we are looking forward to increasing our livestock to supply a wider range of reptiles. Watch this space for more information, offers and discounts.

This years Bilton Summer Festival proved to be a success. Our marquee was very popular with visitors who got the chance to touch a snake or lizard. We even made it in to the paper!
July 2008
Although we have a vast amount of knowledge on the husbandry of Tortoises, we wanted to increase that knowledge further and have enrolled on a course in Chelonian Husbandry through the Tortoise Trust. This will enable us to pass our expertise on to the future owners of the Tortoises we sell.
June 2008
We were nominated to be part of 'The Best of Rugby' - an organisation which recognises us as a professional business who cares for its reptiles and strives to give a quality service. We are very proud to be part of this organisation which encourages genuine customers to leave reviews. Read what our customers have said about us by clicking here.

HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Rugby Reptiles was founded by myself, Lisa, and my partner Andy in 2007 after travelling for over an hour to the nearest quality reptile shop to purchase food and accessories for our collection of 3 snakes and 2 lizards.
After numerous trips back and forth, the seed was planted to set up our own reptile business in Rugby – something no-one else had done. The long process of building our collection and the vivs to house them in commenced.
Our collection has now grown to over 40 snakes and 25 lizards, some of which we have bred, incubated and hatched ourselves.
Although the business is relatively new, Andy has kept snakes for over 20 years and is still learning about the different species, morphs and hets to broaden his knowledge further.
Lisa purchased her first lizard in 2006 – George the Bearded Dragon and believe it or not broke out in a hot sweat if she was anywhere near a snake. She now handles all of the snakes without hesitation and it’s all thanks to Spot – the Childrens Python. It just goes to show that starting small is a good idea!
